ABSTRACT
The development of commodity-monetary relations, property and social differentiation, as well as the decay of Ottoman military feudalism are factors that act favorably for the expansion of the powers and influence of the only bulgarian institutions during the Revival – the municipality. She, as the most massive and widespread form of organization through which the connection between the official Ottoman authorities and the local population was established, played a major role in the overall development of Gabrovo society. The attached study traces the structure of the settlements governance during the Bulgarian Revival trough the published names of representatives of the tyrkish administration in Gabrovo – four kaymakami, eight mudyuri and two subashii, as well as those of twenty-one heads of municipality.
