ABSTRACT
The paper describes a designed and constructed optical cable connection between existing base stations of a mobile operator in a city in central northern Bulgaria. Sample results from tests of a real built line are present-ed, guaranteeing quality of service. When implementing the backbone of their networks, mobile operators use underground optical connectivity between new generation base stations, and this article describes the processes and stages of designing, building and testing an optical route.
