ABSTRACT
Zigbee-based sensor networks are a flexible and functional communication solution for applications in the field of home and commercial building automation, industrial automation, personal healthcare systems, utility monitoring, etc. ZigBee-based sensor end devices form a wireless sensor network that uses a specialized wireless gateway to communicate with conventional 2G/3G/4G/Wi-Fi networks. This report discusses the development and research of a multi-purpose monitoring and control system based on ZigBee wireless sensor network. The system consists of three modules: a wireless IP network gateway for ZigBee, a wireless module with a common sensor interface, and a sensor board designed for the implementation of various applications. Main attention is paid to the development of the wireless gateway and the framework of the system for monitoring and controlling end devices in the sensor network.
